Running weekly (excluding school holidays), each session is designed to focus on a specific skill set. Through structured, hands-on learning and real-world activities, participants will build foundational knowledge and practical confidence. Our experienced facilitators create a supportive and engaging environment where learners of all abilities can thrive, ask questions, and explore future possibilities in the animal industry.

π§ What You'll Learn

π΄ Animal Care & Handling – Participants will gain direct experience caring for a range of animals including horses, goats, chickens, and small companion animals. Learn proper handling techniques, feeding routines, grooming, and the basics of animal health and wellbeing. These foundational skills promote empathy, responsibility, and awareness of animal needs.

π± Agriculture, Environment & Sustainability – Understand the journey of food from paddock to plate while exploring sustainable farming practices, environmental care, and ethical animal husbandry. This section builds appreciation for the land and introduces participants to agriculture-based career pathways.

π€ Work Readiness – Develop essential skills including effective communication, teamwork, following instructions, problem-solving, and managing tasks within a group setting. These skills are critical in any future workplace and help build self-assurance in professional environments.

π§ Property Maintenance – Learn practical farm maintenance skills such as fencing, tool use, gardening, and cleaning animal enclosures. These sessions foster a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in contributing to the upkeep of a working animal environment.

β οΈ Workplace Safety – Gain a solid understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures relevant to animal settings. Learn how to identify risks, use PPE correctly, and apply safe working practices to protect yourself and others when working around animals.

π Employment Skills – Receive personalised support in developing a professional resume, crafting job applications, and practicing interview techniques. These sessions help prepare participants for real-world job seeking with practical strategies and feedback.

π Education Pathways – Explore further study options such as TAFE courses, traineeships, apprenticeships, and industry-based qualifications. Learn how to identify personal interests and align them with career and education opportunities in the animal care and agriculture sectors.

π― Goal Setting & Reflection – Set individual learning and development goals, and participate in regular reflection and progress check-ins. This structured approach encourages self-motivation and helps participants recognise their own growth and achievements throughout the program.

π‘ Self-Directed Project – Participants will design and complete their own hands-on project, supporting independence and creativity. Projects may include building a water feature, herb pallet garden, fairy garden, jewellery box, chicken picnic table, or chicken grass box just to name a few. From planning and budgeting to sourcing materials and constructing the final product, participants will experience the full process from concept to completion—building confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of achievement.

Payment Terms:
A service agreement is required for the full 20-session commitment.
